Thank you

Support appreciated

On behalf of the Central Kitsap High School wrestling team and the many schools that participated in the 31st Annual Matman Wrestling Tournament, I would like to thank the CKHS wrestlers’ parents and the following local businesses for their donations in support of our hospitality room: Azteca Mexican Restaurant, KFC, Los Cabos Grill, Round Table Pizza, Silver City Restaurant, Coca-Cola Bottling, Alaska Distributors, Albertsons and Safeway. Due to your generosity, we were able to serve meals to more than 100 coaches and referees during this day-long event.

I would also like to thank Recognition Plus and the CKSD staff who worked or volunteered their time to make this tournament successful for more than 224 wrestlers from 16 schools across the state.

Community’s generosity outstanding

The Kiwanis Club of Central Kitsap conducts a food drive the first Saturday of each month outside the Silverdale Safeway store. We have been doing this for several years and we are continually impressed with the generosity of the people of our community.

In December 2007 and January 2008 we collected approximately 3,183 pounds of food and household items and $572 in cash donations. We haven’t kept records of the total of all donations since our club started doing the food drives. But, rest assured, the generosity of our community has always been outstanding. All of the items and cash collected go to the Central Kitsap Food Bank for use in helping their patrons.

Our Kiwanis Club would like to thank the Silverdale Safeway for allowing us to conduct these monthly food drives. We would also like to thank the people of our community for their generosity in donating to this worthy cause.

E. PAUL AUSTIN

Kiwanis Club of Central Kitsap president
