I applaud your editorial of April 21, “The epicenter of education in the peninsulas.” While I’m proud of Poulsbo’s “emergence as an epicenter of education,” I’m more proud of what this emergence is doing for all of Kitsap.

Olympic College has long been a keystone to our economic health and quality of life. With Western Washington University’s growth, both institutions have found opportunities to work together and offer more, diverse, important educational opportunities for our residents.

Education is the silver bullet. It is the pathway to healthy families, healthy communities, and a healthy economy. I am so thankful for our local educators, from pre-school to advanced programs. And I am grateful to the North Kitsap Herald staff for recognizing their contributions.
