A thank you note to voters:
I want to thank the voters in the South Kitsap School District for allowing me to be your representative for District 5. I genuinely appreciate your vote and your confidence in me.
I realize that there are a lot of different opinions out there on the things that the school district needs to do to become a “Top 5” school district, as is the current superintendent’s desire.
Change is never easy but you have signaled that it is time for change and I will do my best to carry forth the message that you have asked for: academic excellence for all students, transparency in how the district conducts its business, a stronger voice in how it spends your money and fiscal responsibility in using what the taxpayers give the district versus always asking for more.
I believe with an open dialogue and your continued strong support of our school system and our community that we can move forward and find solutions to issues that most everyone in the community can find common ground on.
I will support all those teachers and workers who work very hard to assist our students in their goals. I will be out in the community often (at Walmart, Fred Meyer, Coffee Oasis and other locations) to talk with those of you who have questions, concerns and issues you want to be brought to the school district and the school board.
Please contact me at 360-874-7517 or at firstname.lastname@example.org with any concerns.
