Most of Platypus Marine contract will be fulfilled in Kitsap

BREMERTON — Platypus Marine Inc. of Port Angeles was awarded on Oct. 18 a share of a $75 million federal contract set aside for small businesses engaged in the repair, maintenance, preservation, alteration and modernization of equipment, systems and sub-system components for the U.S. Navy waterborne vessels, surface ships and submarines.

Work will be performed at U.S. Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facilities in Bremerton (85 percent), Bangor (10 percent); and Everett (5 percent).
