Did you know the Kingston Community News has been around for 25 years? In that time, KCN has seen many changes in and around the North Kitsap community, and now more than ever, we are grateful for the constant support we receive from our loyal readers, contributors and advertisers.

Sound Publishing purchased the Kingston Community News nearly five years ago. We have tried to stay true to its origins and not make too many changes. Being a monthly newspaper has its challenges because there are so many community events and happenings to let you know about in the previous and forthcoming months.

To help us keep you up to date, we have upgraded the Kingson Community News Web site at www.kingstoncommunitynews.com. There you’ll find the latest news, school and community events, and much more. We are trying to keep it updated daily, so you don’t have to wait for the next issue to find out what is happening in your neck of the woods.

We encourage you to submit news, calendar items and letters to the editor. Keep us in touch with what’s going on so we can keep the community informed and share all the great stuff happening in the North End.

In addition to our new Web site, we think it is finally time to make some minor changes to the look of the Kingston Community News starting with the October issue.

We’re going to freshen up the layout and make the type easier to read. For the most part, you’ll probably not even notice most of the changes. But we will be changing the size of the paper to a more standard ‘tab’ format and increasing the number of columns per page. We hope you’ll like the makeover! KCN will continue to remain a local newspaper and as community oriented as the great people we serve.

We appreciate your feedback, story ideas, contributions, advertising support and hope you’ll continue help us grow as we try to keep up with the fast-paced, ever-changing world. Visit us daily, weekly or monthly on the Web, and don’t forget, we would love to hear from you.
