Habit Burger Grill: ‘a portal through space and time’

SILVERDALE — Habit Burger Grill hosted its pre-grand opening event Jan. 24, in the Trails at Silverdale.

Habit Burger Grill is “actually a portal through space and time.”

OK, not literally, but as the website, www.habitburger.com, states, “One bite of a hot, juicy Charburger and suddenly you’re in Santa Barbara, California, 1969. After all, it was in that picturesque, coastal Southern California town, in the same year that the first astronauts landed on the moon, that the original Habit Burger Grill opened its doors.”

Habit Burger’s menu features, of course, burgers. But they also sell made-to-order sandwiches such as the veggie burger, tri-tip steak sandwich and the albacore tuna filet sandwich. They feature handmade frozen treats, including sundaes and malts, and an assortment of salads, sides and a kids’ menu.

Aside from good food, Habit Burger focuses on good deeds, regularly donating proceeds to local charities.

The Silverdale restaurant held two different events Tuesday. The first, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., was a fundraising event for Holly Ridge Center, during which 100 percent of the sales went to that organization.

The Holly Ridge Center is “a private nonprofit agency whose mission is to enable children and adults with differing abilities to reach their fullest potential, creating a positive and lasting impact on the community,” according to the website, www.hollyridge.org. The organization has more than 50 years of experience helping children and adults throughout Kitsap and the Olympic Peninsulas.

The second event was from 5-7 p.m., during which 100 percent of the sales went to the Kitsap Humane Society.

The Kitsap Humane Society is a nonprofit charitable organization “committed to providing positive life changing solutions to people and animals in need,” according to the website, www.kitsap-humane.org. KHS opened in 1908, and, in 2015, found forever homes for 4,864 animals (the most recent numbers).

Habit Burger Grill is open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday, and is located at the Trails at Silverdale, 11196 Pacific Crest Place. For more information, visit www.habitburgergrill.com or call 360-204-5615.
