The Bremerton cheer squad advanced to the state championships Jan. 24 at the Comcast Arena in Everett for the first time in school history. Second-year coach Kara Lindberg called it “a turning point” for the program. Lindberg sent 19 cheerleaders — 14 females and five males — to the state championships. Bremerton finished fourth in the coed Medium/Large/Super Large division with 167 points.
