A full house greeted the Bremerton School District Board of Education last Thursday when the board hosted a special meeting to receive public input regarding the replacement of former superintendent Lester “Flip” Herndon.
There were 15 tires, a broken doll, fallen trees and Paul’s engraved bowling ball. All of the items were recently removed from the “scenery” at East Park by Luke McMillan, a local Boy Scout, and fellow volunteers.
There’s no denying that the steel beams look right in place at the Kitsap 9/11 Memorial. The memorial, based in Evergreen Rotary Park in Bremerton, will be completed by the 12th anniversary of the attacks on America. The design incorporates metal that was found in the rubble at the World Trade Center site.
