Marian C. Phillips

May 11, 1948 - March 27, 2022

Marian Cecelia Phillips, 73 of Poulsbo, Washington, passed away March 27, 2022.

Marian (Britt) Phillips was born in Delaware on May 11, 1948 to Ann and William Britt. After losing her parents at a young age, she helped her aunties care for her eight younger siblings. A feisty young woman and oldest daughter, she was resourceful and independent. Marian graduated from Collingswood High School in 1966. Her love of the musical “South Pacific” led her to Hawaii where her love for the islands and the culture grew. There she married Larry Phillips, and together with their family they travelled and lived in many places.

In 1985 the family settled in Poulsbo, WA where they raised their two children. Marian worked in retail at JCPenny and Sears, then later as an assistant with the North Kitsap School district. Her proudest moments came in her 20+ years of volunteer work with North Kitsap Little League. Her service was commemorated in the naming of the Marian C. Phillips baseball field. She recounted her umpire years as both fun and full of adventure.

Marian believed deeply in the good of others. She loved baseball, children, and her friends. Her daily life was lived in perseverance and with strength. She would never consider giving up if there was the smallest chance of winning. This is how she lived, and this is how we will remember her always.

Marian is survived by her children Ali Nana and Logan, as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00 pm, May 21, 2022 at Connection Point Church of the Nazarene.
