Will someone please explain why we need two school levies in addition to the huge state property tax increase that is the result of the McCleary decision?
If the state is to fully fund education, like it should, why do we need levies at all? When I look at the Tax, Levy and Assessment tab on our county taxes, I see four lines associated with taxes for schools — two levies, and two lines to the state.
Schools are very important, but these taxes seem to be in excess.
