Tomorrow is it. Quite possibly the best holiday of them all. No wondering whether he or she will like it, whether it fits or is the right color, whether or not it will get used, set aside or (gasp) regifted.
Just food and family in heaping helpings. An even though it’s in the name of the holiday, there are still many of us who forget to give thanks each year. They get caught up in the turkey and the football — both of which we are also thankful for — but forget to thank those around them for all the special things they do. They forget to be thankful that they are alive to witness the holiday, whether they’re stuck in traffic or in front of the TV for eight hours or so. Whether at work, or working your way through a third helping of turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, gravy and pie, we assure you, there is something to be thankful for. There always is.
Sometimes you’ll have to think about it but there are always reasons we should celebrate. If you’re having trouble but have read this far, be thankful you can read. We certainly are.
The North Kitsap Herald is most thankful for the community of readers who support our efforts; the headline makers and the behind-the-scenes do gooders who make this area such a grand place to call home.
We’re thankful for our founder, Peter Iverson and his vision back in 1901, and that we’ve been able to help raise his babe going on 105 years. It’s an honor to be associated with his good name.
We’re thankful for our many Sound Publishing sister papers and even our competitors at the Bremerton Sun, all of which elevate and hold us to a higher standard of journalism.
We’re thankful for our advertisers, our subscribers and all of those who spend their hard earned money to back their local news source.
We truly appreciate all your support through good times and bad and wish you a heartfelt Happy Thanksgiving.
