Bellringer hits $1,000 mark

Published 5:00 pm Saturday, November 25, 2006

POULSBO— Bellringer and its host of volunteers and supporters had much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day.

The fund reached the $1,000 plateau for this year’s campaign the day before the holiday.

Last year, it didn’t reach that milestone until early December, but that doesn’t mean more donations aren’t needed if it is to reach its ultimate goal of $30,000.

Three donors came through before heading off to eat turkey and enjoy their family celebrations, but $1,000 is still $29,000 away from $30,000.

Mike Brooks, owner of Mike’s Car Wash in Poulsbo, is once again donating a portion of his proceeds during this month and December to give the fund a boost.

At the same time, the North Kitsap Herald is collecting toys for North Kitsap Fishline’s Toy Store as well.

Each year the Herald staff collects new toys and items for kids of all ages to help make their Christmases that much brighter, which is one of the many reasons the Herald is proud to be your community newspaper.

Donations to the fund can be dropped off at the Kitsap Bank branch in Poulsbo or the North Kitsap Herald office, 18887 Highway 305, Suite 700. Donations can also be mailed to Bellringer Fund, P.O. Box 1244, Poulsbo, WA 98370. The help number of the fund is (360) 697-6087.

Donations through Nov. 22:

• Dale and Beverly Anderson $100

• D. Rand Hillier $100

• Alton Suttell $50 In memory of Marion and

Rick Suttell by Al Suttell

Today’s total: $250

Running total: $1,000,

$29,000 short of $30,000 goal.
