Georgia Mattson

Georgia Mattson died Dec. 16. She was 74.

Born in 1935 in Forest Grove, Ore., she and her family eventually moved to Tahuya.

Mattson attended Tahuya Grade School and graduated from South Kitsap High School. She married and raised her six children mostly in Kitsap County. Georgia worked at all Naval Base Kitsap locations in the personnel department.

Her job as EEO Staffing Specialist enabled her to work abroad in Naples, Italy, Sicily,and Bermuda.

When Mattson retired in the mid-1990s she began working at Wind of the Spirit Ministries coordinating Healing Academies worldwide.

She often attended water aerobics at Poulsbo Athletic Club and played golf at Village Greens in Port Orchard and liked gardening and camping with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Alma Blair and brother her Ted.

Mattson is survived by her brother Nick; sister Katie; six children: Mark, David, Cynthia, Ted, Melody and Angela; six grandchildren: Silver, Heila, Isak, Joshua, Adam, Philip, Nicole and Winona; and four great-grandchildren: Paris, Jaden, Raelyn and Mason.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 3 at Silverdale United Methodist Church.
