Marlene “Diddie” Knowlton
Marlene “Diddie” (Sullivan) Knowlton was born in Port Gamble Sept. 11, 1935 and passed away on Oct. 20. She married her husband Dale in 1955.
They shared their first home in Ohio and returned to Little Boston in 1989.
Knowlton loved children and spent many years providing day care. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Knowlton was preceded in death by her brother Frank Sullivan, Jr. and sister Cheryl “Queeda” Purser.
She is survived by her brothers Conrad Sullivan and Melvin “Poe” Sullivan of Little Boston and John Lawrence of Suquamish. Her sisters are Cyrene Tooze, Alice Fulton and Connie Veregge of Little Boston and Sharon Ives of Omak.
Knowlton had three sons, Roger Sullivan and Daryl Sullivan of Little Boston and Steve Knowlton of Chicago. Her daughters are Pamela Loescher of Little Boston and Teri Zent of Ohio. She had 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 26, at the S’Klallam Tribal Center and memorial services at 4 p.m. with dinner immediately following.
