Myrtle L. Tweten

Myrtle L. Tweten, 74

Myrtle L. Tweten died June 5, 2006 at home in the company of her children. She was 74.

A true Kingston native, she was born Sept. 10, 1931 on Highland Road to Herman and Marie Anderson.

She attended classes at the one-room schoolhouse on Highland Road and, later, the new Kingston School (now known as the Old Schoolhouse at Kola Kole Park). She graduated in 1950 from North Kitsap High School.

In 1951, she married Ted A. Tweten. Two years later they moved to the house in Kingston which would be her home until her death.

She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, and trips the mall with her friends. She was a loving wife and mother, and was devoted to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Sandy (Bob) Teeling; sons Ted (Wendy) and Randy Tweten; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; son, Ricky; and brother, Allen.

A celebration of her life will be held at 6:30 p.m. June 16 at Kingston Christian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County, P.O. Box 3416, Silverdale, WA 98383.
