Florence R. Stone, of Port Orchard, died on Dec. 18, 2008, at Life Care Center of Port Orchard.

She was 95.

She was born on Feb. 5, 1913, in Valley City, N.D., to Charles and Edith (Necker) Luessen.

She was raised and educated in Valley City, graduating from high school in 1932.

She married Cliff Stone on Dec. 31, 1948, in Vancouver, Wash. He preceded her in death in 1972.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Port Orchard, where she attended to the church nursery and loved and cared for children wherever she could. She also enjoyed scrapbooking.

She is survived by sister-in-law Wanita Luessen of Russellville, Ark..

A funeral service was held on Dec. 30 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.

Interment followed at Fraola Cemetery in Port Orchard.
