Vote ‘yes’ for CK kids
Published 5:34 pm Thursday, January 28, 2010
After serving the past 14 years as a member of the CK School Board, and having the privilege of representing our community in that role, I want to offer my full support of the renewal levy proposal currently before the voters on Feb. 9.
Before my term of office expired, I had the opportunity to vote on bringing this levy proposal to the voters, and did so because I believe it represents one of the most important investments we as citizens can make in our future … our children.
Whether we have children (or grandchildren, in my case) in school or not, supporting our schools through this funding mechanism is vital to assuring that the next generation will be prepared to keep this nation competitive with the rest of the world. Making that possible through our levy dollars is essential for a stable economic future.
Please don’t fall into the trap of thinking that just because you don’t have children in school, this levy isn’t important. Nothing could be further from the truth. The education of our children is all of our responsibility.
Please vote “yes.”
