Thank you
Volunteers made Matman a success
The 32nd Annual Matman Classic wrestling tournament was hosted by the Central Kitsap High School wrestling team on Jan. 17. This is a valuable tournament for our local wrestlers because it provides opportunities for them to compete with top wrestlers from around the state prior to the postseason. However, running a tournament with more than 225 participants from 16 schools is a huge undertaking and requires teamwork. I would like to thank the many volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event run smoothly, especially the CKHS wrestling team parents for their outstanding support of the hospitality room and tickets sales, the Key Club volunteers for their recycling efforts and the CKSD staff for their help with the seemingly endless event responsibilities.
Our team was also very fortunate to receive support from the following local businesses: Round Table Pizza, Coca Cola Bottling Co., Bremerton Bottling Co., Kuresman Insurance, Sizzler, Albertsons and Safeway. Due to their generous donations we were able to serve meals to more than 100 coaches and referees during this day-long event. On behalf of the CKHS wrestling team, thank you all for supporting the CK Matman Classic tournament.
MIKE HARTER
CKHS head wrestling coach
