A few months back I required legal advice from an attorney, I made a consulting appointment with the firm I utilize. At the end of this very productive session of almost an hour I asked what I owed.
The attorney told me nothing how could this be I asked, he stated that Kitsap County has a contract to help senior citizens get free legal assistance where it applies. Kitsap Area Council on Aging would have more information therefore I suggest that you contact them.
There is a brochure called Kitsap County Senior Resources that can be mailed to you or picked up at the Givens Community Center in Port Orchard. These guides contain a list of the services that apply to senior’s it is quite knowledgeable and may well assist you find what you might require now or in the future.
I also explored the world of exercise and caught a session of the Silver Sneakers exercise group that meets five days a week at a local gym on Mile Hill Road.
There is a small monthly charge if your insurance company does not cover it.
There are a few insurances that do cover the fee one I know is GroupHealth if you are a subscriber. The workout is designed for the “seasoned crowd,” and you can go at your own pace, they also offer chair yoga which I heard is very relaxing.
If you are a movie lover Regal Cinema 10 in Port Orchard has a senior Tuesday all tickets are $5, also, The Dragonfly Theater downtown Port Orchard has a one-time fee and then all tickets are $5 they do offer some classic movies. Dragonfly Theater is open Thursday through Sunday only.
Now for you senior women Medicare does pay for mammogram screenings check with your physician for a referral it could save your life.
