Do you recall the name Arne Duncan?

Isn’t it funny how schools in this county can charge tuition for all-day kindergarten with the South Kitsap School District being the leader with their $3,500 dollars per student.

Isn’t it funny how SKSD can be the guidance for all other districts in this county on all-day kindergarten while violating Washington state law because this is a “tuition free” K-12 education state and parents blindly pay the tuition to educate the state’s children.

Isn’t it funny how SKSD determined the elite half of the schools in the district would have free all-day kindergarten while determining that the other half of the schools in the district would be charged $3,500 per student. Does that not ring, smack or establish discrimination?

Isn’t it funny how the voters have given SKSD $5 million, three times for total roof replacements on Orchard Heights School and Burley-Glenwood Elementary School? Specifically, the 2006-10 M&O levy, the 2010-14 M&O levy and the 2014-18 M&O levy. To date half of the roof has been completed on Orchard Heights School and nothing has been done with the Burley-Glenwood roof even after voters have funded it three times.

Isn’t it funny that the state jumped right into Common Core education three or four years ago and refuses to meet those required federal standards three years or more down the road?

Isn’t it funny that SKSD was a failing school under NCLB Act and is still a failing school under Common Core because they refuse to meet the standards.

Isn’t it funny that SKSD now — under Common Core requirements — can be closed down and reestablished as charter schools.

Think that can’t happen SKSD, do you recall the name Arne Duncan? He’s the guy that just took your funding away from you.
