Farmers to Families food boxes available Oct. 28

PORT ORCHARD — Free food boxes that include fresh and healthy food products will be available for pickup on a first-come, first-served basis from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at South Kitsap School District’s Food and Nutrition Services, 1695 Madrona Drive. SE in Port Orchard.

Boxes are approximately 35 pounds and include protein, produce, dairy and milk. One box is available per family each week.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is partnering with farmers, ranchers, crop producers and nonprofit organizations to ensure all Americans have access to fresh, healthy food in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
