City of Bremerton seeking Director of Financial Services

The City of Bremerton announced Thursday that they are seeking applicants for Director of Financial Services after current director DeWayne Pitts accepted the same position with the City of Bainbridge Island.
“I am very excited and humbled at the opportunity to contribute my skills and experience to the community where I live,” Pitts said in a recent Bainbridge Island Review article. “I look forward to working with city staff, council and residents to ensure a bright and sustainable future for Bainbridge.”
Pitts has worked for the City of Bremerton since 2017 and will start his new role with the City of Bainbridge Island May 30.
The Finance Director directs, plans, organizes, evaluates and supervises the city’s administrative and financial support functions of the following four divisions: Financial Services, Information Technology, Bremerton Kitsap Access Television and Contract Administration.
The position has oversight of the following major service contracts: Kitsap Conference Center, animal control services and parking enforcement. The position also serves as a member of the City’s Leadership Team, reporting directly to Mayor Greg Wheeler.
