Self-storage buildings to rise on Bethel

PORT ORCHARD — Grading work is being done on commercial property at 1590 SE Lundberg Road, alongside Bethel Avenue, to prepare it for construction of an 87,770-square-foot self-storage facility just north of the Bethel-Lund intersection in Port Orchard.
The business, to be named Bethel Heated Self-Storage in city permit documents, is owned by Pro Property Management, owner of Daffodil Storage of Puyallup.
The company has nine storage facilities in South King and North Pierce counties. Jeff Oldright is Daffodil Storage’s managing director.
According to revised permitting plans approved Feb. 16 by the City of Port Orchard’s Community Development organization, the 204,300-square-foot property footprint will include eight buildings — an office space and seven semi- and unheated buildings that contain 622 storage spaces — and 49,400 square feet of asphalt and concrete surface that include spaces for 13 parking stalls and one van accessible stall.
As required by municipal code, landscaping and an unfenced storm pond also will be installed at the corner of Harold Drive Southeast and Southeast Lundberg Road.
Jackson-Main Architecture PS is the property architect and Forge Building Co., LLC is the project structural engineering firm.
N.L. Olson & Associates of Port Orchard is the civil-survey engineer. Lauchlin R. Bethune Associates, Inc. is the landscape designer.
Oldright was not available this week to answer questions about when construction of the buildings will begin or when the facility is expected to open.
