Not the right time for raises for mayor, council
Published 1:56 pm Friday, January 8, 2016
To the mayor and City Council members:
You should be ashamed of yourselves! How in the name of Poulsbo can you vote yourselves a raise in salary at this time?
First, you definitely don’t deserve one. Our city is in the midst of a major drug problem, there are more homeless in Poulsbo than ever before, and Fishline is serving up more needy families than ever before. For all of this, you think you deserve a raise? Come on — be serious.
Honestly, how greedy can the mayor and City Council members be? Do the right thing and refuse your raises. Citizens of Poulsbo cannot afford you for doing so little.
Please give your raises to the poor families that elected you to your positions. They cannot afford you in their pockets.
For once, why don’t you play Santa and help our community? Don’t play Scrooge. I’m ashamed of all of you. Donate to good causes, to the homeless, Fishline, Poulsbo Lions Raab Foundation Bellringer, etc.
