Starting Nov. 3, Rick Henry, owner of the Sugar Shack Espresso Stand off Chico Way will lock himself inside his business’ location until he raises 500 pounds of food to donate to the CK Foodbank for a project he’s calling Knockout Hunger.
“It’s something I’m very passionate about” Henry said. “I will lock myself inside and will not leave for any reason until we raise 500 pounds of food”.
A video on The Sugar Shack Espresso’s Facebook page shows Henry on location discussing his plan. The video has gone viral, receiving nearly 50 shares in the first few hours after it was posted.
“I want to get the word out to as many people as we can, because I know this is something we can do,” said Henry.
He has owned the Sugar Shack Espresso since March of 2007.
