Kingston community open house May 17

KINGSTON — Are you interested in the future of Kingston? Would you like to provide input about that future? Would you like to know what your county government is doing for you? Are you interested in economic development, the future of local trails or what the many volunteer organizations are accomplishing?
If so, mark May 17 from 7-9 p.m. on your calendar: The Kingston Citizen Advisory Council is sponsoring an Open House at the Kingston Middle School at 9000 NE West Kingston Road.
County Commissioner Rob Gelder will participate in the evening of information exchange. Gelder will welcome attendees and introduce other dignitaries. Brief presentations will be made on topics important to Kingston residents, including the Shoreline Master Plan, the Forest and Bay Project and the State Road 104 Re-alignment Proposal and Sidewalk Project. Sit in on a brief, formal presentation or visit the more than 40 community and county booths to find information or provide input on your areas of interest.
The Kingston Citizen Advisory Committee is comprised of a group of citizen volunteers appointed by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners to be a conduit between the Kingston community and Kitsap County government. Committee members bring issues and projects from the county and other government entities to the community, and provide feedback and recommendations to the county regarding the community’s response and concerns.
The advisory council also provides a discussion forum for community interests and issues and works to develop and promote a sense of community vision and pride.
The advisory council meets on the first Wednesday of every month, 7-9 p.m. at North Kitsap Fire and Rescue, 26642 Miller Bay Road. Meetings are open to the public.
