POULSBO — The former Poulsbo police clerk accused of stealing two firearms from police evidence will not be seeing the inside of a courtroom for a while.
Because of the delayed Kitsap County Courthouse schedule, Amanda Dixon’s trial was postponed to June 5, according to Prosecutor Giovanna Franklin.
The change “has no effect on what we’re trying to do,” said Dixon’s attorney, Ron Ness. He would not elaborate on their plan of action. Dixon has entered a plea of not guilty.
Dixon was arrested last year and is accused of stealing .38 caliber and .22 caliber semi-automatic handguns; she had signed police documents that she had witnessed the guns’ destruction, on July 11, 2010 and May 12, 2011, respectively.
