POULSBO — A Poulsbo man was charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into a Puget Sound Energy substation early Tuesday morning.

Casey Dickerson, 37, was arrested around 5 a.m. March 27 as he tried to leave the substation on Gunderson Road and Miller Bay Road in Poulsbo.

Cencom was notified of a burglary in progress. Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies caught Dickerson leaving the station in a dark SUV. He allegedly cut a hole in the fence surrounding the substation.

Deputies recovered $5,000 in stolen property — including $2,800 in copper wire — and damage to the fence. He was charged with second- degree burglary, second-degree possession of stolen property, and third-degree driving with a suspended license.

Dickerson was previously charged with burglary and possession of stolen property in November from a construction site in Silverdale.

Dickerson was booked into Kitsap County Jail on $105,000 bail.
