Bobby Lawson Nolen died July 13 at his home in Bremerton, surrounded by his family.

He was 81.

He was born on Dec. 22, 1929 in Dardanelle, Ark. In 1967, after 20 years in the Navy, he moved to Kitsap County with his family and worked at Bangor and Indian Island until retirement in 1985.

Bob and his wife, Joy, spent many years boating and then traveling the country in a motor home.

He is survived by his wife; brother, Jim (Samantha); son, Mike (Karla); daughter, Johnnie (Mike); grandchildren, Baron (Danya), Nathan (Jackie), Nichol, Collin, Bobbie; and great-grandchildren, Jack, Pheonix, Shawna and Seph.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother.

The family extends special thanks for all the help he received from the staff at Olympic Peninsula Kidney Center.
