Brown accused of election night kerfuffle with reporter

An internet radio producer called Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies on election night to complain that County Commissioner Josh Brown had poked him in the chest and used profane language telling him to leave a party.

A sheriff’s office report said the deputy went to the Democratic Central Committee campaign office in Silverdale Nov. 2 after being called.

The producer was identified as James Brennan, 39, who reports for the “Outlaw Radio Network,” a local internet show. In a statement posted to the network’s website, Brennan was said to have approached Brown to congratulate him in his apparent win over Republican Abby Burlingame and get comment. Burlingame had appeared on the show, Brown had not, the posted statement said. However, the network said it had extended the same invitation to Brown it had to Burlingame.

Brown told the deputy he used obscenities telling Brennan to leave.

Brennan reported he was not injured but wanted the incident documented.
