Margaret M. Lenhart of Poulsbo died July 27. She was 93.
Lenhart was born in Renton on Nov. 7, 1916, and became a star singer on network radio after winning the “Gateway to Hollywood” contest in the early 1930s. A featured soloist on the Camel Caravan on NBC, she also performed on a number of recordings, among them the original “Holiday Inn” with Bing Crosby.
She is survived daughters Diana McArdle and Valerie Phimister; son Dan Erlenborn; grandchildren Cathy, Tim, Gary, Jeanette, Stephen, Chelsie, Hope, and Tess; and great-grandchildren: Crystal, Rachel, Sydney, Rowan, and Harper.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Aug. 11 at The Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary, 22272 Foss Road NE in Poulsbo.
