‘Spirit of Poulsbo’ is a great book

One of the finest offerings of the winter season is the new Poulsbo history book, The Spirit of Poulsbo. Not only is Soon Hood, owner of the Book Stop book store in downtown Poulsbo to be congratulated and commended on her willingness to monetarily back this monumental project, but so are the dedicated researchers, and others who diligently worked together to produce this wonderful book. From the first page, the elements in the historical narrative, the meticulously documented photos, and well-placed, intriguingly portrayed artifacts are a total delight. The timeline that runs across the bottom of each page throughout the book takes the reader through each decade.

The story telling of author Judy Driscoll, as well as several others, is enjoyable and enchanting.

It is so much more than a history book. It is a must have for long time residents as well as those who want to know how Poulsbo evolved into the diverse community that it is today while still maintaining its Nordic heritage.
