Clean eats in the north end

A fifth of the restaurants commended by the Kitsap County Health District last week for ensuring customers get clean, wholesome meals are in the north end, with 15 in Poulsbo and five in Kingston.
The district recognized 100 Kitsap eating establishments with its “100% Club Award.”
More than 500 establishments are currently permitted by the district, including quick service restaurants, full service restaurants and take out establishments that include supermarket delis.
Not only are the 100% Club restaurants required to receive a perfect score on the last two consecutive routine inspections, but also must meet additional criteria, a news statement from the department said.
The additional criteria includes: no confirmed or suspected food borne illnesses in the past year, no closures due to imminent health hazards, the restaurant must be on approved water and on-site sewage system and no confirmed violation complaint with the last year.
