Myrna Lou Gerhardt

Myrna Lou Gerhardt died Aug. 5. She was 71.
Gephardt was born on Feb. 14, 1938 in Trenary, Mich., to Robert and Marvel Scott. Myrna moved from Michigan to Coos Bay, Ore., when she was 13 years old. She married Jim Gerhardt on October 14, 1956, and they moved to Kansas in 1959. In 1967 Myrna and Jim moved their family to Klamath Falls, Ore., where they stayed for many years. They moved to Poulsbo in 2004 to be nearer their children.
She is survived by her loving husband (of 52 years) James; and a large family including five children: Julie, Cynthia, James (Jimmy), Christopher and Jennifer; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Lois, Yvonne, and Phyllis; one brother: Virgil; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and other family members. Her parents and her brother Wallace (Wally) preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 16, at Bremerton Seventh-Day Adventist Church 4949 NW Taylor Road in Bremerton. The family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, National Breast Cancer Foundation, or Hospice of Kitsap County in lieu of flowers. A detailed memorial of Gerhardt’s life will be published in the future.
