Ernest G. Orwiler died Feb. 6 after a long and quiet struggle with leukemia. Orwiler was born Sept. 6, 1954, to Tom and Edna Orwiler in Bremerton. He was 54.

A graduate of North Kitsap High School, class of 1972, he started the first children’s wrestling program for the local community.

On March 1, 1986, Orwiler married Laurel, the love of his life. He owned his own landscaping company years before becoming a journeyman electrician and eventually joining family-owned Harbour Point Electric.

As an active member of Kingston Christian Church, Orwiler taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and volunteered as a youth leader. He loved to spend time with his family, participate in outdoor activities such as fishing and camping, play music, and tell a good joke.

Orwiler is survived by his loving wife Laurel; sons Nathaniel, Thomas, Jonathan, and Andrew; brothers Mike, Ted, Stan (Christy) and sister Gail (Tom) Nugen.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m., March 1 at Kingston Christian Church. A trust fund for the family has been set up at Kitsap Bank in Kingston. An online memorial is available at www.lewischapel.com.
