Brian Smith

Brian Smith of Hansville died of cancer on Feb. 9 at Harrison Medical Center. He was 62.

He was born in Bremerton on Aug. 6, 1946 to Glenn and Florence Smith. He grew up in East Bremerton and graduated in 1964 from East High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968.

He was employed at NTS Keyport, from 1971 to 1996 as an electronics technician with Underwater Torpedo Recovery and retired in 1997.

Until his recent illness he was employed at EJB Facilities Bangor as a central monitor technician division of EMCOR.

Smith married Jill Sheets of Edmonds in 1970 and made their home in Hansville where they raised their two sons.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who enjoyed, camping, hunting and restoring his 1967 Camarro

He is survived by his wife Jill of 38 years, sons Todd and Corey of Hansville, two grandsons Zachery, 15, and Collin, 9, of Indianola, sister Susan Baker of Port Orchard and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother Eugene Smith in 1953, mother Florence in 1988 and father Glenn in 2000.

A celebration of life is scheduled for a later date.
