Bellringer Fund hits $1,200

The North Kitsap Bellringer Fund had a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Now $33,800 away from reaching a higher-than-ever goal of $35,000 this holiday season, the fund continues to bask in a cornucopian start to fundraising.
The Little Norway Grandmothers contributed $100 to the effort, which is distributed by North Kitsap Fishline to help area residents with bills, food, emergency transportation and Christmas food baskets.
Though just the one donation came in prior to the turkey-filled holiday, the Poulsbo Lions Raab Foundation remains confident North Kitsap can pull through for their neighbors in need.
The fund is administered by the Lions Club and is staffed by volunteers so that more than 99 percent of money raised goes toward helping others.
Donations to the fund can be dropped off at Frontier Bank in Poulsbo, or at the North Kitsap Herald office. Donations can also be mailed to Bellringer Fund, P.O. Box 1244, Poulsbo, WA 98370. The help number of the fund is (360) 697-6087.
The North Kitsap Herald is also collecting toys for Fishline’s Toy Shop. Each year the Herald staff collects new toys and items for kids of all ages to help make the holidays that much brighter, which is one of the many reasons the Herald is proud to be your community newspaper. Bring new, unwrapped gifts to the office at 18887 Highway 305, Suite 700.
