Shots of Espresso calendar creates a buzz

The Shots of Espresso 2007 calendar, featuring 68 creatively designed coffee stands in Washington and Alaska, is a unique fund-raiser for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Created by Susan McKeeth, a public health studies researcher for the Hutchinson cancer center and the University of Washington, it features the Historic Grounds espresso stand in Port Gamble and other coffee, tea and smoothie serving icons thriving well outside of corporate America, from Centralia to the end of the road in Homer, Alaska.
Last year the Drive Thru Puget Sound’s Expresso Stands calendar raised over $6,000 for cancer cure research.
A coffee table book of espresso establishments is also in the works by McKeeth. Those interested in having their favorite espresso establishment considered for inclusion can e-mail her at shotsofespresso@msn.com.
