Bellringer total almost doubles

Published 9:00 am Saturday, December 2, 2006

POULSBO — The proverbial snowball rolling down the mountain hit Bellringer as the roads cleared and donors arrived in mass this week.

The fund had received a $4,450 boost by 2 p.m. Thursday as it neared the $7,000 mark on the eve of December. The single biggest gift came from Jay and Sandra Dahlquist, who gave $2,500 to help those in need in the North End.

The $4,450 single day total is a welcomed sight to the fund as it marches toward its $30,000 goal.

Mike Brooks, owner of Mike’s Car Wash in Poulsbo, is once again donating a portion of his proceeds during this month to give the fund a boost.

At the same time, the North Kitsap Herald is collecting toys for North Kitsap Fishline’s Toy Store.

Each year the Herald staff collects new toys and items for kids of all ages to help make their Christmases that much brighter, which is one of the many reasons the Herald is proud to be your community newspaper.

Donations to the fund can be dropped off at the Kitsap Bank branch in Poulsbo Village or at the North Kitsap Herald office, 18887 Highway 305, Suite 700. Donations can also be mailed to Bellringer Fund, P.O. Box 1244, Poulsbo, WA 98370. The help number of the fund is (360) 697-6087.
