Joyce Padgett, 62

Vera Joyce Padgett died Feb. 19, 2006 in Everett. She was 62.

Padgett was born to Orville and Bertie (Jull) Helland in Port Gamble on June 16, 1943. She married Gary Padgett on June 15, 1968 in Seattle.

Padgett graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1961 and also from barber school. She worked for Rainier Bank in Seattle, becoming a supervisor for several banks. She then moved to Arlington and owned the Lakewood Barber Shop. She loved her customers and often worked six days a week. She also loved her horses, dogs and visiting with family and friends.

Padgett is survived by sisters Betty (Jerry) Bennett, Christlyn (David) Hill and Rebecca (Tim) Finch, all of Poulsbo; five nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister MaryAnn Goe of Seattle and a niece.
