William Ray Marken was born to Roy A. Marken and Dorothy H. McMelleon Marken Aug. 11, 1936 in Seattle, Washington and passed away at his home in Hansville, Washington on Sept. 15, 2014. Bill grew up in Lake Forest Park before he moved to Hoqium where he married Patricia Jean Rickert Durney. They raised their family in Kirkland and Bainbridge Island and then moved to their retirement home in Hansville. Bill loved boating, skiing, live music, sport fishing, and traveling to Lake Tahoe, Alaska and Sun Valley.

Bill is survived by his sister Mary and husband Fred Marsh, son Greg and wife Gina Marken, daughter Gayle and husband Don Stetson, grand kids Jennelle Marken, Blake and wife Alysia Marken, Mark, Chad and Grace Stetson, his great grandson Dalton Marken and his big orange cat, Willy!

Bill’s life was celebrated at his Hansville home in Jan. 2015 by a gathering of friends and family. He is missed dearly and he would ask his friends and family to continue “upward and onward”, as he would always say.
