August 25, 2016

Stanley A. Kulsa, Jr. was at last able to stop fighting his very sick body and died peacefully in the early morning hours on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016.

He spent his first career as a submarine sailor in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1977 as a Master Chief. His next career kept him in Kitsap County working as an IT specialist at Keyport and Bangor bases.

He touched many lives in the swimming community as a national referee for swim meets; an international referee in underwater hockey; and team manager for his wife’s synchronized swim team. He loved his family deeply and will be missed by all.

He is survived by many loving people, including his wife, Brenda; daughter, Teresa (Ron Jensen); daughter, Susan (Shane Shisler); son, Stan (Jennifer); daughter, Janice (David Wing); son, John; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at noon Sept. 3 at St. Olaf in Poulsbo, with a reception in the church hall following. All are welcome.
