KINGSTON — Carlos A. Portillo of Kingston passed away on Jan. 9, 2018. He was 57.

He was born on Dec. 15, 1960 to Rosa E. Robredo and Santiago Portillo in Sonsonate, El Salvador. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in El Salvador and went on to earn a master’s degree in veterinary science at Centro Estudios Universitarios in Monterey, Mexico.

Carlos married Maria Gricel Garcia on Jan. 11, 1986. He owned and operated a cleaning business.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; sons Carlos, Diego and Santiago; brother, Alvaro Portillo; sister, Rina Portillo Guevara; and one granddaughter, Elena.

Rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 20, with Memorial Mass celebrated at 1 p.m. at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church, 18943 Caldart Ave. NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370.
