Wild Society offering Natural History Walks

KINGSTON — Explore Kingston’s wild areas this spring, accompanied by local naturalists who will provide commentary on water, geology and native plants in a series of one- to two-mile walks open to all ages.

These inquiry-based adventures, sponsored by the Wild Society, are free and are scheduled in March, April and May.

Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Village Green Community Center. Events include a “Beach to Bog” watershed walk through Carpenter Creek, March 9; “Wild Woods on the Hill” walk through Quiet Place Park, April 6; and a North Beach walk to explore the dynamic “Existence of Beaches,” May 4.

According to information provided by the organization, the Wild Society is dedicated to “cultivating attitudes of wonder and belonging in the natural world.” The non-profit outdoor education organization is based in North Kitsap.
