Tuesday Talk topic: global warming

HANSVILLE – Things are set to heat up at the Greater Hansville Community Center at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 with “Tuesday Talk: Climate Change in Puget Sound.”

With the current presidential administration backing out of the Paris Climate Agreement, a vitriolic debate is growing between those who deny the effects of global climate change and those who wish to see political action taken in order to stem it before it’s too late.

The community center will welcome Adelia Ritchie, who has a doctorate in physical organic chemistry. Ritchie, a volunteer ambassador for the Climate Reality Project — started by Al Gore in order to spread the word about global climate change — also has extensive experience working with the Navy and the Department of Defense.

In her talk, Ritchie will detail current scientific predictions for our planet, the Puget Sound region and what actions are being taken (and can be taken) to counteract the effects of global climate change.

The Greater Hansville Community Center is located at 6778 Buck Lake Road NE in Hansville.
