Congratulations to Teen Short Story first-place winner Maggie Levine (Kingston Library). Be sure to read her story, “Never Let Me Go,” at www.krl.org — teens — teen short story contest, grades 10-12 (first place tie).

— Pajama Storytimes:  Mondays (except Nov. 12), 7-7:30 p.m. Children can come in their pajamas and hear bedtime stories with our youth services librarian.

— Preschool Story-times:  10:30-11 a.m. Come and enjoy stories, rhymes, songs and more. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Siblings and other family members welcome.

— Kingston Book Group: Nov. 7, 10:30 a.m.  Discussion will be on “In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler’s Berlin” by Erik Larson.

— Legos at the Library:   Nov. 8, 3:30-5 p.m. If you love Legos, grab a friend and head to the library for an afternoon of free play or a challenge.

— Kingston Friends of the Library Book Sale: Nov. 16 and 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members only will have early entry at 9 a.m. both days. The $5 Bag Sale will be on Saturday only from 3-4 p.m. (bags supplied by the Friends).

— Classics Book Group: Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m.  We will discuss “A Moveable Feast” by Ernest Hemingway.

— Dickens Reading Dickens: Nov. 27, 6:30-8 p.m., Kingston branch. Local actor Tim Tully performs a re-enactment of Charles Dickens’s reading tours of the 1860s. Behind a replica of Dickens’s original traveling lecture desk, Mr. Tully, in authentic Victorian costume, entertains with excerpts from “Great Expectations,” “Nicholas Nickleby” and “A Christmas Carol.”

— Bring on the Board Games: Nov. 28, 3:30–5 p.m. If you think board games are boring, you’re playing them wrong.

Grab some friends and hang out at the library to enjoy snacks, hot cocoa, and the sweet taste of board game domination. Games will be provided but you may bring your own as well. For teens and tweens.

Little Boston Library
Please join us for a special storytelling event called Tellebration, Nov. 17, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

All ages are invited to enjoy stories by Elaine Grinnell and Maria Potter.  Grinnell is an elder of the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and is a recipient of the Governor’s Heritage Award. She is an advisory board member for Northwest Indian Storytellers Association.  Potter is a local storyteller and environmental educator.

Other events this month.
— Family Fall Fest: Nov. 3, 11 a.m. to noon.  Everyone in the family is invited to celebrate fall at the library. We’ll have fun fall-themed crafts for all ages, including pumpkins made out of books. Cider and light snacks, too.

— LegoMania: Nov. 15, 3:30–5 p.m. If you love Legos, grab a friend and head to the library for an afternoon of free play or a challenge if you are up to it. Lego creations will be put on display in the children’s area.

— Anime Afternoon:  Nov. 29, 3:30-5 p.m.  Whether you are an avid fan of anime or just curious about it, come check out the library’s anime and manga collection and watch an anime film.  Snacks provided.  Especially for teens.

— Crafternoon: Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. Bring your handwork projects and look at our newest crafting books.

— Little Boston Book Group: Nov. 7, 11 a.m.  They will read and discuss “The Other” by David Guterson.
