Man arrested, taken to hospital after standoff with Bremerton police

A man wanted on a felony domestic assault charge was arrested by Bremerton police after shooting at officers during a standoff early Saturday morning.

The Bremerton Police Department said the man, who was not immediately identified, barricaded himself in a home on the north end of Shorewood Drive.

Police said he exchanged gunfire with police. He was taken into custody shortly before 9 a.m. Sept. 23, according to a BPD posting on its Twitter feed.

The man was “conscious and alert, and is being transported to the hospital,” the department reported.
