KINGSTON — Kingston’s Severe Weather Shelter will begin its fourth year of operation on Nov. 1.

When local weather includes freezing temperatures, an inch of rain or an inch of snow, the shelter — at Kingston’s Village Green Community Center — opens from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Guests are provided with a cot, bedding, shower facilities and warm food and beverages. Socks, gloves, toiletries, bus tokens and gift cards are also often provided through donations from Kingston Cares.
