Rain doesn’t dampen road to CRUZ Car Show

PORT ORCHARD — The 2017 CRUZ Car Show eschewed our now-familiar stretch of sunny weather on Sunday, Aug. 13, with light rainfall and overcast skies, but the streets of downtown Port Orchard nonetheless were packed with hundreds of shiny, vintage automobiles — and thousands of car fanciers to admire them.

The car show was organized and sponsored by the Saints Car Club of Port Orchard. In conjunction with the all-things-automobile event, Fathoms O’ Fun sponsored its “Festival by the Bay” Street Fair, which featured vendors, crafts, food and other fun activities.

In past years, the CRUZ show has attracted up to 20,000 attendees to the free event and has put upwards of 600 cars on display.
