$6,000 in Audubon scholarships available for Kitsap seniors

KITSAP COUNTY — The Kitsap Audubon Society is accepting applications for scholarship totaling $6,000.

The $3,000 Ann Sleight Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to a Kitsap County resident who has successfully completed at least one year toward an academic degree in a field related to Kitsap Audubon’s mission, such as environmental science, forestry, marine or wildlife biology.

Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating Kitsap County high-school seniors planning to pursue a two-to-four-year degree in a field related to Kitsap Audubon’s mission.

Selection will be based on the quality of application responses, academic history, letters of recommendation and evidence of interest in the chosen field through related projects and activities.
